
Oliver Crawford earns second straight SEC Honor

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – For the second consecutive week the Southeastern Conference recognized Oliver Crawford with the leagues freshman of the week award. Crawford's second straight honor comes after yet another perfect weekend on the courts.
The Spartanburg, S.C. native earned his second career SEC honor after strong performances on the road against both No. 27 Mississippi State and Auburn.
Against the Bulldogs Crawford helped earn both points that the Gators won. He and Chase Perez-Blanco continued their strong start to SEC play with a quick 6-2 victory over the nationally ranked dup from MSU. After helping Florida win the doubles point he earned the Gators only singles point with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-4 victory over No. 82 Strahinja Rakic.
Against Auburn Crawford was just as locked in as he was against Mississippi State. He and Perez-Blanco were leading in doubles before Florida won the point. In singles Crawford took on Olle Thestrup, earning the 7-5, 6-1 victory for the Gators.
Crawford's impressive weekend improved his dual season singles record to 7-3 overall and 4-0 in the SEC. He is 2-1 against nationally ranked opponents and has a perfect 3-0 record when playing at the No. 3 spot. In doubles he improved to 9-3 overall and 3-0 in the SEC. He is 2-0 against opponents ranked nationally and has won three straight doubles matches with Perez-Blanco.
