Men’s Tennis ranked ninth in Oracle/ITA Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Florida men's tennis team is once again ranked inside the top 10 of the Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings. The Gators are ranked ninth in the latest edition, their third time being ranked ninth this season.
The top spot in the rankings remains unchanged for the 10th straight week with Wake Forest coming in at No. 1 after earning 79.48 points in the computer rankings. Rounding out the top five this week are Ohio State, Stanford, UCLA and North Carolina.
Florida has been ranked in the top 25 of the Oracle/ITA Rankings for 35 straight weeks and the top 20 for 33 straight weeks.
The Gators are one of seven SEC schools ranked in the top 25, and one of two ranked in the top 10. Joining the Gators in the Oracle/ITA Rankings are Texas A&M (6), Mississippi State (13), Georgia (14), Vanderbilt (19), Kentucky (21) and Tennessee (25).
For the fifth consecutive week, the Gator duo of Alfredo Perez and Johannes Ingildsen are ranked No. 1 in the country for doubles. The pair has been on a tear this season with a 6-1 record, including a perfect 4-0 record in the SEC. Joining Perez and Ingildsen in the doubles rankings are Chase Perez-Blanco and Oliver Crawford (8), Duarte Vale and McClain Kessler (12), Andy Andrade and Perez-Blanco (39) and Perez and Crawford (67).
Florida is well represented in singles as well with four different athletes finding themselves in the rankings. Perez leads the way with a No. 8 ranking while Ingildsen is ranked No. 11. The biggest mover of the week is freshman Crawford who jumped from 93 to 51. Crawford is 10-3 this season and on a current eight-match winning streak. The final Gator in the singles rankings in freshman Duarte Vale who is ranked 87th.
