Men’s Tennis jumps into the Oracle ITA Top 10

TEMPE, Ariz. – The University of Florida men's tennis team jumped nine spots to No. 9 in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, announced by the national organization Tuesday.
The top spot in the rankings remains unchanged for the eighth straight week with Wake Forest coming in at No. 1. The top five saw little movement with Ohio State (No. 2), Stanford (3), UCLA (No. 4) and Texas A&M (No. 5).
Florida has been ranked in the top 25 of the Oracle/ITA Rankings for 33 straight weeks and the top 20 for 31 straight weeks.
The Gators are one of five SEC schools ranked in the top 25. Joining the Gators in the rankings are Texas A&M (No. 5), Vanderbilt (No. 17), Georgia (No. 21), and Tennessee (No. 22).
Once again the Gator duo of Alfredo Perez and Johannes Ingildsen are ranked No. 1 in the country for doubles. This is the second straight week they have held top spot and third time this season. Florida is the only school with two doubles teams ranked in the top 10.
In singles, the Gators are also the only school with two athletes ranked in the top 10 while having a total of five ranked overall. For the first time, this season all three freshmen on the roster find themselves ranked in singles after Oliver Crawford made his debut at No. 93.

After two important home wins this past weekend against Georgia and Tennessee, the Gators will be on the road this coming Friday and Saturday. Florida will take on No. 27 Mississippi State at 4 p.m. ET on Friday and Auburn at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
