Florida clinched its second-straight Southeastern Conference title with a series win against No. 15 Georgia over the weekend. The SEC title is the 15th in program history and the fifth under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan.

KEY NOTES OF WEEK:

Florida clinched its second-straight Southeastern Conference title with a series win against No. 15 Georgia over the weekend…The SEC title is the 15th in program history and the fifth under head coach Kevin O'Sullivan; his five titles ties for fourth-most in SEC history by a single coach behind Tilden Campbell (9), Skip Bertman (6) and Ron Polk (5)…Florida also extended its streak of regular-season series wins to 19 dating back to last season…The Gators won 7-6 on Friday night and 9-3 on Saturday to ensure its second league title in a row…Georgia won Sunday's series finale 4-1…UF also won a midweek 11-8 against USF, a game in which it overcame a 6-0 deficit, its largest comeback since 2010…JJ Schwarz led the offense with a .533 average (8-for-15) with two home runs and four RBI…Nelson Maldonado and Blake Reese led the team with 6 RBI last week…On the mound, Brady Singer (7.0 IP, 1 ER) and Jackson Kowar (7.0 IP, 1 R, 0 ER) led the way once again…Michael Byrne picked up his 12th save of the year and went 5.0 scoreless innings in three appearances on the week.

  • Led the team with a .533 average in four games as the Gators clinched the SEC title
  • Was even better against No. 15 Georgia, going 6-for-11 (.545) with two home runs and four RBI
  • 3-for-4 in game one against Georgia with a game-tying two run double in the sixth inning
  • 3-for-3 in the second game against UGA, including a solo home run that tied the game at one in the fourth inning
  • On Sunday, he made his 260th career start – the most ever by a UF player; he surpassed Preston Tucker's 259 career starts
