Alicia Boren is the third Gator to win NCAA floor and claims the 20th overall individual crown for the Gator program.
FORT WORTH, Texas –Florida senior Alicia Boren earned a share of the NCAA Gymnastics Championships' floor exercise title in Friday's competition. Boren posted a 9.95 for her signature event in the first rotation of NCAA Semifinal II competition and that score held as the overall floor high through the remaining three rotations.
Boren was one of four Gators competing as individuals in Friday's NCAA Championships semifinal competition in the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Joining Boren on the NCAA floor awards podium was freshman Trinity Thomas. She shared seventh overall at 9.925.
Freshman Savannah Schoenherr shared eighth overall in semifinal II vault competition (9.875). Sophomore Alyssa Baumann turned in a 9.7625 on beam.
In semifinal II all-around competition, Boren tied for sixth at 39.375. It was Boren's 54th consecutive and overall all-around appearance, making her the Gators' all-time leader by eight competitions.
In Friday's NCAA Championships' team competition, UCLA (197.675 – Semi I), LSU (197.5125 – Semi I), Oklahoma (197.85 – Semi II) and Denver (197.0375 – Semi II) advanced to Saturday's NCAA Championship final. That competition begins at 7 p.m. ET and airs live on ESPNU. This is the first year for a four-team final format, as the Super Six format ran from 1993-2018.

QUOTES
What was going on during her winning routine…
"Adrian (Burde, UF Assistant Coach) told me to go out there and have fun. He was pushing me to just enjoy the moment and I did.
"It was funny – I went for my last pass and I could see the floor before I landed. I saw the out-of-bounds and I thought 'Alicia, you need to take the smallest lunge possible'. My lunge was small and I managed to stay in. I got 9.95s across the board – it was one of the best moments of my career." – senior All-American Alicia Boren
On closing her Gator career:
"To have the opportunity to be here is an awesome ending. It is not how our team wanted to end the season but to be here to represent the Gators is an honor." – senior All-American Alicia Boren
On her two events:
"Bars wasn't my best. I made a mistake and I covered it up well, kept going and stuck my dismount so that was a good ending. Then we went to floor. I was final performer for the third rotation so I had a great time showing off to the whole crowd. I was excited for that opportunity. It was really fun." – freshman All-American Trinity Thomas
