GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gator Assistant Coach Owen Field has been promoted to Associate Head Coach, UF Head Coach Jenny Rowland announced Thursday.
"I am thrilled to announce that Owen Field has been promoted to the position of Associate Head Gymnastics Coach. Owen has been an invaluable member of our coaching staff for the past several years, and we are confident that he will excel in this new role," Rowland said." Owen's dedication, passion, and expertise have been instrumental in the success of our gymnastics program. His knowledge of the sport, leadership skills, and commitment to our student-athletes make him the perfect fit for this position. I am excited to see Owen continue to make a positive impact on our team and help lead us to even greater heights in the upcoming seasons."
The upcoming 2025 season with be Field's 10th with the Gator program. Prior to joining the Gators for the 2016 season, Field served roles as manager or volunteer coach during his six years with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He also was a volunteer coach at Southern Utah for the 2011 season.
He coaches uneven bars, as well as aids in Florida recruiting, team conditioning, social media/creative content, meet day operations and equipment needs/maintenance. Field also picks up frequent flier miles when traveling to coach Gators participating in national team camps or national/international competitions.

Field celebrated six Southeastern Conference team titles with the Gators, as the team advanced to the NCAA Team Final seven times, finishing runner-up in 2022 and 2023. Seven NCAA team final appearances since 2016 equals the national high.
A national high four NCAA uneven bars titles since 2016 were claimed by Gators - Bridget Sloan (2016), Alex McMurtry (2017), Trinity Thomas (2022) and Leanne Wong (2024). The Gators' lineup is a regular among the nation's top four uneven bars rankings, including making appearances at No. 1 in four of the last six seasons.
Four different Gators posted 15 uneven bars 10.0s since 2016, leading the nation in 2016, 2021 and 2023. Those 10.0s were earned by Kayla DiCello (2), McMurtry (4), Thomas (5) and Wong (4). A third of those bars 10.0s came in post-season action:
