Post-Florida Career
DeLisha (da-LEESH-ah) Milton was the second overall draft pick of the American Basketball League (ABL) on May 5, 1997, by the Portland Power... her placement in the professional draft tied the all-time highest selection of any Florida athlete with Neal Walk, who was the second pick in the 1969 NBA draft... Milton announced she would continue her basketball career in the ABL on April 24, 1997... fourth overall selection in the 1999 WNBA draft by Los Angeles... 2000 WNBA All-Star... member of the 2000 & 2008 U.S. Olympic Basketball teams … selected to the 2004 U.S. Olympic Basketball team, but an injury prevented her from competing.

Extra info
Milton headlined perhaps one of the most dominating frontcourt tandems in the country with Murriel Page... the most decorated Lady Gator in the 23-year history of the program... Nicknamed “D”... Extremely emotional player and was the vocal leader of the team... Very quick and determined rebounder... Good range... one of only three players in program history voted team captain three times (Sarah Lowe-2002-06; and Mahogany Hudson-1994-98, are the others) … hometown of Riceboro, Ga., expressed their appreciation of her accomplishments by hosting “DeLisha Milton Days” on May 6-7, 1997... Stands 73 inches tall while her wing span (measured from fingertip to fingertip) is an incredible 84 inches - usually, both measurements are equal!
