2017-18:
NCAA Championships:
  • Dressel had one of the most accomplished NCAA Championships in history, earning four titles in four days (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly, 200 FR)
    • With those four titles, he passed Ryan Lochte (8) for the most National Championships all-time on the men’s side
  • His time of 17.63 in the 50 free is an American, NCAA, US Open, UF and pool record and he is the first human to have ever broke 18 seconds in the event – he did so, twice
    • He became the first man in history to sweep the 50 free and the 14th man to sweep any event during their four-year college career
  • Became the first human to break 40 seconds in the 100 free, posting a time of 39.90 to earn his third title in the event
  • Won his second title in the 100 fly, breaking the American, NCAA, US Open, UF and pool records with his mark of 42.80
  • Dressel earned his first relay title in the 200 free relay, finishing with a school record time of 1:14.39
    • This was the first 200 FR title in school history on the men’s side
  • He earned seven All-America honors (50 free, 100 free, 100 fly, 200 FR, 400 FR, 200 MR, 400 MR), bringing the total to 28 over his four years as a Gator
    • 28 All-America honors are the most that can be earned by any swimmer over the course of a career

  • Dressel earned his third-straight SEC Male Swimmer of the Year and Male Swimmer of the Meet award for his performance at the SEC Championships

  • Broke the NCAA, Championship, American, U.S. Open and Pool records in the 100 Butterfly, finishing with a mark of 43.85
  • Earned seven All-American honors in the 50 and 100 Freestyle, 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay, 200 and 400 Medley Relay and the 100 Butterfly
  • Helped Florida to a third-place finish, scoring in seven events
  • Earned CSCAA Co-Swimmer of the Year after his performance

  • Earned SEC Male Swimmer of the Year
  • Earned SEC Male Swimmer of the Meet for totaling 96 points

  • Joined former Bolles club teammates Joseph Schooling (Texas) and Ryan Murphy (Cal) with the Co-Swimmer of the Year recognition
  • Seven-time All-American
  • Clocked an 18.20 in the 50 Free and a 40.46 in the 100 Free to reach two individual titles -- both times stood as UF, NCAA, American, and U.S. Open records. In other words, they’re the fastest times EVER swam in yards
  • Totaled 57 individual points which would have placed 18th alone in the team standings
  • With relays included, was a member of 176 points gathered (would have finished 10th in the team standings)
  • Finished runner up in the 100-Fly with a time of 44.40
  • Helped the Gator relays to four Top-5 finishes in the 400 FR (3rd, 2:47.16), 200 FR (T-4th, 1:16.21), 200 MR (4th, 1:23.43) and 400 MR (5th, 3:05.19)
SEC Championships:
  • Named 2016 SEC Male Swimmer of the Meet following six SEC Titles (three individual, three relay)
  • Claimed individual titles in the 50 Free (18.23), 100 Fly (44.80), and 100 Free (41.07)
  • Was a first-place relay member in the 200 MR (1:23.69), 200 FR (1:16.46), and 400 MR (3:03.86)
  • Finished runner up in the 400 FR, clocking a time of 2:50.30… totaled 42 wins on the season
International Competition:
  • At the 2015 Phillips 66 National Championships in San Antonio, Dressel shattered the 17-18 boys National Age Group Record by nearly half-a-second in the prelims
  • The time put Dressel as the sixth-fastest 50 free swimmer worldwide and the second-fastest American in 2015. In the finals, he lowered his record even further, this time touching in at 21.53 for a National Title and the third-fastest time in the world behind Florent Manaudou and Nathan Adrian
  • His second National Title came in the 100 Free, touching in with a time of 48.78, finishing ahead of Texas’ Jack Conger by .27 seconds
  • Dressel broke his own National Age Group Record, and his time ranked him as the second-fastest American in 2015 behind Nathan Adrian

  • Dressel paced the Gators all week and it began on day one when he became the first Gator to EVER win a 50-yard freestyle (18.67) NCAA Championship
  • He became the first Florida freshman to win an NCAA title since Darian Townsend achieved the accolade as a member of the UF’s first place 800-yard freestyle relay team (Ryan Lochte, Brian Hartley, Adam Sioui) in 2005
  • Dressel is also the first freshman to win an individual crown since Adam Sioui did so in the 200-yard freestyle in 2002 
  • In addition, his time (18.67) set a school-record and is just one-hundredth of a second off the American Record
  • Individually, Dressel also earned Honorable Mention All-American honors in the 100-yard freestyle (11th, 42.46) and butterfly (9th, 45.69)
  • He also earned All-American accolades as a member of four of UF’s relay squads (200 FR*, 400 FR*, 200 MR, 400 MR)
SEC Championships:
  • Won an SEC Championship in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 45.28 seconds
  • Also finished runner-up in both the 50-yard freestyle (18.93) and 100-yard freestyle (41.90) races
  • Dressel was a member of four top-five finishing relay squads (200 FR, 400 FR, 200 MR, 400 MR)
  • Made his UF debut in at the Pinch A Penny All Florida Invitational where he competed in multiple events and was a member of all five of UF’s winning relay teams (200 FR, 400 FR, 800 FR, 200 MR, 400 MR) and he captured his collegiate individual event victory in the 100-yard butterfly (47.74) his top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, as he placed third in the B-Final with a time of 59.57
  • Finished with 12 individual wins and was part of 12 first-place relay teams during the dual meets and invitational competition

  • Most recently, he set a multitude of new records at the 17th FINA World Championships
  • He tied Michael Phelps’ record for most gold medals at a World Championship, finishing with seven golds in the week
  • Dressel is also the first swimmer to win three gold medals in one day at either Worlds or the Olympics
  • He set two world records during the week as well, finishing with a time of 3:19.60 in the mixed 4x100m free relay to win gold
  • Also set a new world record in the mixed 4x100m medley relay, posting a time of 3:38.56, good for a gold medal
  • Won two more golds in relays, posting a time of 3:27.91 in the men’s 4x100m medley relay
  • Posted a time of 3:10.06 in the men’s 4x100m free relay, setting a new American record with his split of 47.26
  • Won three individual golds over the course of the week, including one in the 100m butterfly
  • His time of 49.86 in the 100 fly is the second fastest time in the history of the event, just .04 seconds off of Michael Phelps’
  • Finished with an American record and a gold medal in both the 50m free (21.15) and 100m free (47.17)
  • His 21.15 time in the 50m free made him the third fastest competitor in the event
  • Finished fourth overall in the 50m butterfly with a time of 22.89
  • Set an American record in the semifinals of the event, posting a time of 22.76
  • Competed in the 2017 Phillips 66 National Championships to earn his spot in Worlds, qualifying for five events
  • On the first day of competition, he finished second in the 100m Free, posting a time of 47.97 to earn his first qualification for Budapest
  • He won the championship in the 50m Fly, posting a time of 23.05, which was a new Championship Meet record
  • Also qualified for the 4x200m Free Relay that day, posting a time of 1:47.51, good for sixth place
  • On the final day of competition, he earned his fifth qualification, winning the championship in the 50m Free with a time of 21.53
  • Competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics, winning two gold medals in the process
  • Took home his first Olympic gold in the 4x100m Free Relay, posting a time of 3:09.92 (48.10 split)
  • Followed up with a gold in the 4x100m Medley Relay, recording a time of 3:31.83 (47.74 split)
