NO. 8 FLORIDA Wins 4-0 versus South Carolina

COLUMBIA, S.C. - The University of Florida soccer team (10-1, 5-0 SEC) swept the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division with a 4-0 shutout over South Carolina (6-7, 0-5 SEC).  It was the Gators third consecutive shutout victory and its eighth of the season.  For the fourth time this season,  the Gator defense did not allow a single shot on goal in the first half of play.  Florida outshot South Carolina 28-6.

Sophomore Lisa Olinyk scored her first goal as a Gator with a 25 yard shot off a free kick.  Junior All-American Danielle Fotopoulos scored her team leading ninth goal of the season off a 15 yarder from inside left of the penalty box.
 
Sophomore forward Melissa Pini opened up the second half scoring drive for the Gators at 68:52 when she drove the ball on a breakaway from midfield and netted the ball on a five yard shot from inside the goal box.  The Gators final goal was scored at 73:49 by freshman Heather Mitts on an 18 yard shot off a cross from freshman Sarah Yohe
