WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. ‑In a rematch of last year's second round NCAA Tournament game, the University of Florida women's soccer team (10-2-1,3-1) defeated Wake Forest (8-4-1) 1-0 in Winston-Salem at Spry Stadium in front of 450. UF is now 2-0 against Wake Forest in program history.
Â
Just like against UNC-Greensboro all of the scoring came in the second-half. The Gators out-shot the Demon Deacons 10-3 in the first-half.
Â
Andi Sellers broke the scoreless tie at the 55:18 point of the second half for her ninth goal of the season. Sellers stands tied for second in goals scored with sophomore
Sarah Yohe.
Â
Sellers' goal would be all the offense the Gators would need as they went on to a 2-1 win.
Â
The Gators return home to face in-state rival Florida State on Wednesday, Oc. 15 at 7 p.m.
