Grossman, is 226-for-344 passing this year for 3,534 yards with 32 TDs and 11 INTs for a efficiency rating of 176.30. Grossman leads the nation in pass efficiency (176.3), total offense per game (356.8), yards per play (9.62), points responsible for (21.60), passing yards per game (353.4), yards per pass attempt (10.27) and TD percentage (9.30) while ranking third in nation in touchdown passes (32). Grossman has set a NCAA Division I-A record by throwing for 53 TD passes in his combined freshman and sophomore years. He threw for over 300 yards in each of UF’s first nine games this season. His 3,534 passing yards are only 91 shy of Danny Wuerffel’s UF single season record set in 1996 and presently ranks sixth on the SEC single season chart in that category.
Brown, a finalist for the Lombardi and Nagurski Awards, leads the Gators with 10.5 sacks and 13.5 total tackles for loss this year. He has 47 tackles on the year, tops amongst Florida’s defensive linemen. His 34.5 “Big Plays,” eight more than any other Gator, are comprised of 10.5 sacks, three other TFLs, 13 forced hurries, one forced fumble, three blocked kicks and four pass deflections. He is Florida’s all-time leader in career sacks with 33, including a school-record 13 in 1999. His 46 career TFLs ranks sixth in Florida history.
Chandler has become the 10th leading scored amongst kickers in NCAA Division I-A history. He is UF’s all-time leading scorer and holds the UF record with 63 career field goals, fifth best in SEC history. Chandler’s 354 career points rank second to Tennessee’s Jeff Hall’s 371 (set from 1995-98) amongst all SEC players. On the season, Chandler is 15-18 on field goals and has hit each of his last 12 attempts. He is 44-for-46 in PAT attempts.
Davis has started all 10 games at middle linebacker this season and leads the Gators with his 94 total tackles and his 58 solos. Davis has 10 tackles for loss, including a pair of sacks. He has made a total of 16 “Big Plays,” a sum comprised of his 10 TFLs, two forced hurries, two fumble recoveries, and his one interception, which he returned 25 yards for a touchdown against Vanderbilt.
In only 22 career games, Gaffney, a Biletnikoff Award finalist, has registered 131 career catches (eighth-best in school history) for 2,274 yards (17.4 average), tied for second-best in UF history, and 26 TDs (tied for fourth-best in school history and tied for sixth-best in SEC history). Gaffney is the third player in SEC history and the first Gator to ever record consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. His 26 TD catches are the most for a player in major college history over his combined freshman and sophomore seasons.
Pearson has started each of the last 32 games for Florida. His 675 plays are the most snaps of any player on the offensive side of the ball for Florida. He has earned second-team All-America honors in each of the past two seasons as well as first team All-SEC.
Sheppard has started all 10 games at cornerback and has made 38 tackles on the year, 27 solo. Sheppard has made a pair of tackles for loss and has been credited with a team-high six pass deflections, and he made an interception against Georgia. He also leads UF with a 22.4 kickoff return average and has run back a team-high 25 punts this year for 243 yards (9.7 average).
