Baseball Enters SEC Tournament as No. 7 Seed

Florida (33-23, 16-14 SEC) enters the SEC Baseball Tournament this weekend at Hoover-Metropolitan Stadium in Birmingham, Ala. as the No. 7 seed. Florida will play No. 2 seed LSU (37-18, 18-12 SEC) Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
If the Gators win, they will play the winner of No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 3 Tennessee on Thursday at 6 p.m. ET. The losers of the two contests will play Thursday at 11 a.m. ET.
Other first round action on Wednesday includes No. 6 Ole Miss vs. No. 3 Tennessee at 11 a.m. ET, No. 5 South Carolina vs. No. 4 Mississippi State at 6 p.m. ET and No. 8 Auburn vs. No. 1 Georgia at 9 p.m. ET.
The tournament is a double elimination format with the winner earning a NCAA Regional berth outright.
The Gators enter the tournament with a 33-23 overall record, 16-14 in the SEC. UF has won seven of its last 10 games. Florida will be making its SEC leading 24th appearance in the tournament including 13 of the past 14 seasons. The Gators have won the tournament five times (1981, 1982, 1984, 1988 and 1991). The Gators have had 39 players earn SEC All Tournament honors including four MVPs.
LSU enters the tournament after dropping two of three games vs. Auburn. LSU swept Florida in its three-game series earlier this year in Baton Rouge, La.
Tickets are still available for the SEC Baseball Tournament. Tickets are $80 for reserved box seats, $15 for a single-game reserved seat, $48 for a Dr. Pepper Six-Pack general admission book. All 15 SEC Tournament games will be televised on College Sports Southeast throughout the Southeast. The games can be listened to on the Gator Radio Network (850-AM, WRUF) in Gainesville.
