Countdown: 3 Days To UF-UGa in Milk Challenge
Thursday, January 24, 2002 | Women's Basketball
Last year, a record crowd of 12,222 jammed the O'Connell Center to see the Lady Gators in the Milk Challenge. Now, only 3 days remain until #18 Florida hosts #16 Georgia in the fourth annual Milk Challenge Presented by Blockbuster Video this Sun., Jan. 27, at 3:30 p.m., and officials expect another capacity crowd.
The first 2,000 youth in 8th grade and under receive replica orange Lady Gator basketball jerseys, and fans may have their picture taken at the milk mustache booth at Gate 3 prior to the game. After the game, fans can get autographs from the entire Lady Gator squad.
Free admission coupons are available with rentals at participating Blockbuster Video locations in Gainesville, Ocala, Lake City and Jacksonville. Youth 17 and under and UF students get in free to all home, regular-season Lady Gator basketball games.
This marks the fourth consecutive year that Dairy Farmers, Inc., has sponsored this high-profile women's basketball event, and it is the second time that the game has been televised nationally on ESPN.
