W-Hoops: Hayden Has Fractured Fibula, Ankle Sprain

University of Florida All-American center Vanessa Hayden (Orlando, FL) fractured her left fibula and sprained her left ankle with 18:34 remaining in the December 7 loss at N.C. State. She is expected to miss several weeks while rehabilitating the injuries. There is no time table set for her return to the court.
Through eight games this season, Hayden averaged 9.1 points and 9.6 rebounds, in addition to blocking 29 shots.
Hayden was UF's leading scorer & rebounder last season, averaging 17.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 4.3 blocks per game. Hayden led the country in blocks last year (126) and ranked fourth nationally in rebounding.
This Wednesday's game at UCF would have been Hayden's first collegiate game played in her hometown of Orlando, where she graduated from Boone High School.
