"Obviously I'm very saddened and excited for John. We've been together for a total of 11 years and he has been a loyal, hardworking and outstanding coach. But more importantly he has been a great friend. He will be sorely missed at the University of Florida. South Alabama can take great comfort in the fact that they are getting one of the best young coaches in America who will bring an up tempo style of play that fans will enjoy.
