Track Standout Finishes Fifth in 800m at NACAC

University of Florida junior Moise Joseph (Miami, Fla.) finished fifth in the 800-meter at the North America, Central America and Caribbean Under-25 Track and Field Championships. Over 330 athletes from 27 countries traveled to San Antonio to compete in the international event.
Canada's Achraf Tadili won the 800m in a time of 1:48.19, followed by Luis Soto of Puerto Rico (1:48.41) and Blount (1:48.55). Joseph finished in a time of 1:49.62.
Joseph recorded the fastest preliminary time in the event, finishing in 1:50.34, ahead of fellow American Elliott Blount, who ran in a time of 1:51.03.
The Championships will conclude Sunday.
