UF's Lisa Raymond Wins US Open Mixed Doubles Title

Former University of Florida tennis standout Lisa Raymond claimed her sixth career professional grand slam title on Friday, winning the 2002 U.S. Open mixed doubles title.
Raymond, who is the No. 1-ranked women’s tennis doubles player in the world, paired with fellow American Mike Bryan and emerged with her third U.S. Open championship after defeating Katarina Srebotnik (SLO) and Bob Bryan (USA) 7-6 (9), 7-6 (1) in the final.
Raymond’s other grand slam titles include: 2001 U.S. Open doubles, 2001 Wimbledon doubles, 2000 Australian Open doubles, 1999 Wimbledon mixed doubles and the 1996 U.S. Open mixed doubles crowns.
The former Gator great, who starred at UF from 1991-93, is regarded as perhaps the top women’s collegiate tennis player in history, winning two NCAA Singles titles and posting an 84-4 record during her tenure before joining the professional tour.
