Track Athlete Wins Silver at Pan Am Games

University of Florida senior Novlene Williams (St. Ann, Jamaica) anchored the Jamaican 4x400m relay team that claimed the silver medal at the Pan American Games Saturday. Williams also placed in the finals of the 400m dash.
Williams anchored her country's 4x400m relay team that clocked in at 3:27.34, finishing less than a second behind the gold-medal winning team. In addition to the relay, she also qualified for the finals of the 400m dash after finishing second in her heat in the semifinals in 52.76. Williams crossed the finish line in 52.83 in the finals to finish sixth.
Gator Josh Walker (Stone Mountain, Ga.) also competed at the Pan Am Games, winning his heat of the 110m hurdles in the semifinals, clocking in at 13.54. Walker was one of only two Americans to advance to the finals, finishing eighth in 13.75.
