UF-Vandy Game To Air Live In Selected Areas
Wednesday, January 14, 2004 | Men's Basketball
The University of Florida men's basketball game against Vanderbilt on Saturday will air live at 8 p.m. on Sunshine Network in the South Florida market and will be broadcast in Gainesville/Ocala live on Cox Cable Channel 15.
In Central Florida, Bright House Networks will offer the game live on Channel 1001 and in Jacksonville, Comcast is airing it live on channel 57. Time Warner in Lake City and Live Oak will offer it live on channel 20.
The game is being made available by Sunshine Network to cable affiliates throughout Florida to offer the game live on an alternate channel should the cable operator be able to provide one. Sunshine will release additional markets as they are confirmed in the coming days. Areas that will not be able to see it live will be able to see it on tape delay at the conclusion of the Tampa Bay Lightning game at approximately 10 p.m.
In addition, DirecTV will have the live airing of the Florida vs. Vanderbilt game on its alternate channel, 633 (right next to Sunshine's usual channel 632) and it will be available in all areas of Florida, but per Southeastern Conference rules, it can only go outside Florida to the SEC territory (nine states). DISH Network has assigned their alternate channel 446 for the live UF game that night -- again only to SEC states.
