Swim & Dive Set To Take On Tennessee
Friday, January 30, 2004 | Women's Swimming & Diving
The No. 4 ranked University of Florida women's swimming and diving team and the fifth-ranked men's team travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to face the Vols at Noon Saturday at the Student Aquatic Center.
The matchup is the final regular season dual for both the men's team (8-2 overall, 4-1 Southeastern Conference) and the women's team (10-2, 4-1). The Vols enter the meet ranked 13th on the men's side, while the women's squad received three votes in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association Poll.
The men's team ended a skid of nine straight losses to Tennessee last season when the Gators handed the Vols a 122-121 loss at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. The women's team is a perfect 16-0 all-time against Tennessee, including a 5-0 mark under current head coach Gregg Troy. The women will be looking for their 11th win of the season, which would be the second-most wins under Troy's guidance.
