McDonald Named SEC Defensive Player of the Week

University of Florida sophomore defensive tackle Ray McDonald was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday for his effort in UF's 20-13 win at Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla., on Saturday.
McDonald totaled a season-best seven total tackles, including three for losses in Florida's 20-13 win over the Seminoles. Among McDonald's three tackles for losses were a career-best two sacks. McDonald's performance helped the Gator defense hold Florida State to just 34 rushing yards on 24 attempts.
For the season, McDonald has 35 total tackles (25 solos), which is 11th in the SEC among defensive linemen.
