Women's Tennis Blanks MSU for 33rd Straight Win

The second ranked University of Florida women's tennis team cruised past Mississippi State 7-0 Friday afternoon at A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre.
The Gators lost a total of just 13 games in the six singles matches en route to posting their 33rd consecutive victory. Friday's win improved UF's overall record to 16-0 and 9-0 in the Southeastern Conference. The Lady Bulldogs dropped to 6-11 overall, 1-8 in league action. Florida now leads the overall series against MSU 23-0.
Individually, the Gators extended personal winning streaks. Senior Lindsay Dawaf topped Yumi Ueda 6-0, 6-0 for her 15th straight win, while freshman Nina Suvak defeated Justyna Switala 6-3, 6-0 to record her 15th consecutive singles victory, as well. The Gator tandem of Jennifer Magley and Zerene Reyes provided the clinching doubles point with a 8-3 victory over Tarryn Rudman and Hayley Rudman to notch their 16th straight doubles win.
UF returns to action on Sunday, when the team continues its regular-season ending four match road trip by traveling to Oxford to face Ole Miss.
