Ponteen Set To Run In Under-23 Championships

University of Florida athlete and 2004 Olympian Tiandra Ponteen will compete at the 2004 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association Championships which begin Friday, July 30.
The event, which will feature numerous 2004 Olympians in the field of 300 athletes from nearly 30 countries, lasts from Friday, July 30-Sunday, Aug. 1 and will be held at Université de Sherbrooke Stadium.
Ponteen, who will compete in the 400m for St. Kitts at the 2004 Olympics, recently broke the 12-year old school record in the same event by running 51.00 at a meet in Bogota, Colombia. The 2004 SEC Indoor and Outdoor Freshman Runner of the Year currently is ranked among the top 30 in the world in the 400m. She will compete in the 400m, which will be held on Sunday.
