Florida Swimmers Earn CSCAA Academic All-American Honors

GAINESVILLE, Fla.—The College Swim Coaches Association of America has named 19 Florida swimmers to its 2004 Academic All-American team and four Gator swimmers to its 2004 Academic All-American Honorable Mention team.
CSCAA requires that each student-athlete achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and also qualify to NCAA championship times. Athletes who maintain a G.P.A. of at least a 3.5 and qualify for NCAA "B" times are eligible for honorable mention status. The Gators received four additional swimmers that were named as honorable mention from the CSCAA.
Achieving All-American honors on the women's side are Vipa Bernhardt, Ashley Carusone, Jamie Ellis, Rebecca Harper, Brittany Johnson, Kathleen Kennedy, Sara McLarty, Cassandra Seland and Marietta Uhle.
Representing the men's squad as All-Americans are Brian Hartley, Scott Kaufmann, Bill Mrazek, Scott Schultz, Ansel Tjin-A-Tam and Kris Wiebeck.
Recognized with Honorable Mention honors were Blair Beard, Danielle Duncan, Amanda Huff and Zach Wilcox.
