Liz Wanless Named SEC Field Athlete of the Week

University of Florida senior Liz Wanless (Belleville, Ill.) has been named Southeastern Conference Field Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Wanless, in her first year as a Gator, has already claimed three shot put titles in just four events this season. Her most recent victory came Saturday at the Clemson Invitational where Wanless posted a NCAA automatic mark of 17.18m/56-04.50. Wanless is a transfer from Division III Bates College where she was a NCAA Champion in the shot put as well as an All-American in volleyball.
The Gators return to action as they host the Gator Invitational on Feb. 6 beginning at 10:30 a.m.
