W-Tennis: Srebrovic Marches into Finals of ITA Southern Regional

The University of Florida's Diana Srebrovic tallied two big upsets and advanced to the finals of the ITA Southern Regional Championships. The Gator sophomore, ranked No. 34 in the country, downed Georgia's 16rth-ranked Natalie Frazier 6-1, 6-3 in the quarterfinals before ripping past Alabama's fourth-ranked and top-seeded Robin Stephenson 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals on Saturday. Her opponent in Sunday morning's final was not known at the time of this release.
“Diana is playing better and better tennis every match,” UF head coach Roland Thornqivst said. “She is so competitive on the court and a first class performer. I really enjoy that Diana has been so coachable and continually wants to improve.”
By reaching the finals, Srebrovic earns a spot in the main draw of the ITA National Indoor Championships, the second collegiate event grand slam event of the season which will be played November 3-6 in Columbus, Ohio.
