Florida Leads with 45 Named to SEC Academic Honor Roll

Forty-five University of Florida student-athletes were named to the 2004-05 Southeastern Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll today by league commissioner Mike Slive. The Gators lead the SEC in number of student-athlete honorees while Kentucky was second with 38 honorees.
Five Florida teams were represented among Gator Academic Honor Roll recipients: women's swimming (15), men's swimming (15), women's basketball (seven), gymnastics (six) and men's basketball (two).
Earlier this week, two Gator athletes were named the Florida H. Boyd McWhorter Post-Graduate Scholarship nominees, and have a chance to receive a $10,000 scholarship from the SEC. The 2004-05 UF nominees are seniors Ashley Kellgren (soccer) and Justin Zumsteg (swimming).
