Men's T &F Set To Compete In NCAA Outdoor Championships

The No. 3 University of Florida men's track and field team will travel to Sacramento, Calif., June 8-11 for the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex.
Florida will bring 12 athletes who will compete in 14 individual events in addition to the nation's top ranked 4x400m relay and the No. 5 4x100m relay.
Led by defending national champions in senior Josh Walker (Stone Mountain, Ga.) in the 110m hurdles and sophomore Kerron Clement (La Porte, Texas) in the 400m hurdles, the Gators will be looking to finish among the top two teams at a championship meet for the ninth consecutive time. The Gators are also the defending 4x100m national champions and the 4x400m relay of junior Sekou Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica), sophomore Reggie Witherspoon (Marietta, Ga.), freshman Bernard Middleton (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Clement boast the world's second-fastest time in 2005 (3:02.23). The Gators finished second at the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships and have placed in the top 10 in five of the last six seasons.
