Former Gator T&F Standout Novlene Williams Wins 400M

Former UF women's track and field five-time All-American Novlene Williams (St. Ann, Jamaica) secured a victory in the 400M at the IAAF Grand Prix II Meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, on Saturday.
Competing as a representative of her home country, Jamaica, Williams crossed the finish line with a time of 51.33. That clocking was her second-fastest mark of the season. Her time was more than one second faster than runner-up Monika Bejnar of Poland (52.71).
Williams will next compete in Stockholm, Sweden, on July 26 before competing in Finland on July 29. Following those two competitions, she will participate at the World Championships, to be held in Helsinki August 6-14.
