Quarterback Chris Leak Featured on Sports Illustrated Cover

University of Florida junior quarterback Chris Leak is featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated released this week. Leak, from Charlotte, N.C., is one of one of three players being featured on regional covers of the national publication.
Leak's appearance marks the sixth time Florida has been featured on the cover and the first time since Danny Wuerffel appeared in the in the 1996 national championship commemoration edition.
Wayne Peace was the first Gator featured on the SI cover in 1982, followed by Ray McDonald in November 1985. Wuerffel made the first of his two appearances on the cover in September of 1995. Former football coach Steve Spurrier also appeared on the cover of the December of 1996.
