Trio of Athletes Travel to Clemson Heptathlon Championships

A trio of University of Florida track and field athletes will compete this weekend as the Gators travel to the Clemson Heptathlon Championships Jan. 27-28 at the Clemson Indoor Track.
The remainder of the squad will have the weekend off with senior Kayne DaKoski (Palm Harbor, Fla.) and sophomores Kurt Lee (Spring Hill, Fla.) and Blake Taylor (Lansdale, Pa.) set to compete in the meet - their first heptathlon competition of the season.
The trio also attended in the meet in 2005 with DaKoski competing unattached and finishing third with 4,879 points. Lee came in fifth with 4,698 points and Taylor was 12th with 4,094 points.
The first event on Friday, the 60m, is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. with the high jump to conclude events for the day at 3:25 p.m. The first event on Saturday is the 60m hurdles at 11 p.m. with the 1,000m set to end the competition at 2:20 p.m. A complete recap will be available at www.GatorZone.com for both days.
