Orange & Blue Series Concludes Gator Fall Baseball Practice

The University of Florida baseball team concludes fall practice this week with the Orange and Blue World Series at McKethan Stadium. The three-game series will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday starting between 4 and 4:30 p.m. due to varying class schedules. The length of each game will be determined by the availability of pitchers each day.
"With so much competition for positions, the Orange and Blue World Series is an exciting way for us to conclude the fall portion of our season," Head Coach Pat McMahon said. "Dividing our squad into two teams means that bragging rights are definitely at stake."
Coin flips were used to decide the uniform colors, home and visitor designation and the draft order. Seniors Kris Gawriluk (Deltona, Fla.), David Hurst (Jacksonville, Fla.), Brian Leclerc (Clearwater, Fla.), Austin Pride (Longwood, Fla.) and Patrick Thompson (Gainesville, Fla.) picked the Orange Team, while the Blue Team was chosen by seniors Matt LaPorta (Port Charlotte, Fla.), Chris Petrie (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Steven Porter (Ocoee, Fla.)
