Golfer Billy Horschel Finishes U.S. Open Tied For 82nd

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Freshman Billy Horschel's (Grant, Fla.) run at the U.S. Open ended on Friday after he carded a seven-over 77 at the Winged Foot Golf Club. Horschel finished the tournament tied for 82nd and missed the cut by two strokes.
After opening with a five-over 75 during the first round, Horschel struggled to gain ground on the leaders. He began the day on the back nine, where he made four bogies and followed up with three more after the turn.
Steve Stricker took a two-stroke lead over Colin Montgomerie to lead the 156 player field. Former Gator Camilo Villegas moved into a tie for 21st after carding a two-over 72 during the second round.
