McGinnis Named SEC VB Player of the Week

After recording the second triple-double of her career and the just the second in school history, University of Florida junior setter Angie McGinnis (Fraser, Mich.) was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week.
McGinnis picked up the second triple-double of her career against No. 24 Utah last Saturday when she posted 56 assists, 11 digs and 10 kills in leading Florida to a 3-1 victory. She was named the MVP of the Aquafina Invitational after leading all players in assists per game (13.43), finishing second in blocks per game (1.43) and ending the event third in hitting efficiency (.419).
The Gators return to action this weekend by traveling west for the Hawaiian Airlines Wahine Classic Sept. 2-3. Florida (2-0) will face No. 7 Hawai'i (2-0) at 1 a.m. (ET) on Sept. 2, No. 10 UCLA (3-0) at 10:30 p.m. (ET) Sept. 2 and Colorado (1-0) at 8:30 p.m. (ET) Sept. 3. The Hawai'i contest can be seen live online for $9.95 at www.hawaiiantelmedia.com. All Gator matches will be broadcast live on WRUF-AM 850 and www.GatorZone.com. The UCLA contest will be joined in progress following the end of the Gator football postgame show.
