W-Tennis Doubles Team Reaches Main Draw of Riviera All-American

The Florida women's tennis doubles team of Csilla Borsanyi and Diana Srebrovic won two matches on Wednesday to advance into the main draw of the Riviera/ITA All-American Women's Tennis Championships.
Borsanyi and Srebrovic captured a hard-fought 9-8 (7-4) pro-set win against Texas' Marja Milic and Vanja Corovic in the round of 16 of the qualifying draw before topping Indiana State's Jennifer Migan and Joanne Schickerling, 8-5, to reach the field of 16 in the national event.
“They are playing better each time they take the court,” associate head coach Dave Balogh said. “Hopefully, they can continue that trend in the main draw and make some noise there.”
Borsanyi and Srebrovic join Megan Alexander in the main draw of the 32-player singles tournament featuring the nation's top players. The four-day main draw begins Thursday at the Riviera Tennis Club.
Alexander paired with Lolita Frangulyan in consolation qualifying doubles action on Wednesday, defeating Vanderbilt's Taka Bertrand and Catherine Newman, 8-2, in the round of 16 before earning a walkover in the next round to advance to the semifinals.
The third Gator doubles team of Whitney Benik and Anastasia Revzina competing in the qualifying draw also enjoyed success on Wednesday, when they downed Nevada's Caroline Bailly and Maria Mizyuk to reach the consolation draw's quarterfinal round.
“We were really shaky in our play on Tuesday, but we rebounded pretty well today,” Balogh said. “We stepped up our play and need to continue that improvement.”
