Florida's Stacy Bishop Semifinalist for 2007 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy

Senior All-American Stacy Bishop (Land O'Lakes, Fla./Land O'Lakes H.S.) is a semifinalist for the Women's 2007 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced today.
Bishop led the Gators for the second consecutive season in goals (10) and points (30). She also led Florida in assists (10) and shares the season game-winning goals (4) lead. Bishop made her second straight appearance on the Southeastern Conference first-team in 2007. She was named the SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player after leading all players at the event with three goals and four assists. She twice turned in two-goal matches in 2007 - versus Kentucky in SEC Tournament opening round and versus Alabama. Bishop has picked up various player or team of the week honors in 2007 - Soccer America National Team of the Week (Nov. 12), SoccerBuzz.com National Team of the Week (Nov. 12) and SEC Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 22).
The M.A.C. Hermann Trophy is the most prestigious individual honor presented in intercollegiate soccer. Players are selected to the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List by a committee of Division I coaches who are NSCAA members. NSCAA members can vote on-line from Nov. 26 until noon on Dec. 10. Three finalists will be invited Dec. 14 to attend a banquet at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo., the evening of Jan. 11. The winner of the 2007 award will be announced during a nationally-televised news conference that evening.
