Florida Recognized as a NSCAA College Team Academic Award Winner

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released Monday its list of the top division I soccer academic teams in the country. Florida was one of the 295 women's teams recognized as a 2007 College Team Academic Award Winner.
The Gator soccer team turned in a 3.11 grade point average in the 2006-07 academic year. Florida was one of seven Southeastern Conference teams (Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky and Vanderbilt) commended by the NSCAA for team GPA. A team GPA of 3.0 or higher earns a program a NSCAA Team Academic Award.
The Gators, the 2006 and 2007 SEC champions, excelled academically as well as athletically over the 2006-07 season. Florida placed 14 players on the 2006-07 SEC Academic Honor Roll and eight on the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll. The total of 22 Gators listed on SEC Academic Honor Rolls last season led the SEC.
