Rain alters schedule at ITA Southern Championships for UF Women's Tennis

Members of the University of Florida women's tennis team are in Athens, Ga. this weekend competing in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southern Region Championships.
Weather conditions have altered the schedule of play, postponing all singles action until Saturday. Only doubles will be played on Friday. Due to the scheduling changes, both the doubles and singles draws have been altered.
The sixth-ranked doubles team of junior Megan Alexander (Dallas, Texas) and sophomore Marrit Boonstra (Groningen, The Netherlands) will team up in first-round action against Florida A&M's Alice Izomor and Rachel Pye. The round of 16 and quarterfinals of doubles play are all scheduled to take place on Friday.
In singles action on Saturday, junior Anastasia Revzina (Moscow, Russia) is scheduled to take on UCF's Elvi Serrot at 9:00 a.m.
Alexander is set to play Miami's Gabriela Mejia at 10:30 a.m. and Boonstra will take on Troy's Annabelle Bares at noon.
The two finalists of the singles draw and the doubles team winner will earn a place in the ITA National Indoor Championships, a national tournament held in Charlottesville, Va., November 6-9.
