Florida's Nicky Kit Named to Three National Soccer Teams of the Week

University of Florida sophomore Nicky Kit (Livermore, Calif./Granada H.S.) a consensus selection as a defender for the three outlets that publish a national team of the week - Soccer America, TopDrawer Soccer.com and SoccerBuzz.com. Kit was named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com National Team of the Week on Monday and also is part of the Soccer America National Team of the Week and SoccerBuzz.com Elite Team of the Week, the outlets announced Tuesday. These are the first such honors of Kit's collegiate career. She is the fourth Gator to be recognized this season by TopDrawerSoccer.com and the third by Soccer America and SoccerBuzz.com
Kit provided the assist on Florida's tying and go-ahead goals in Sunday's win at LSU, a team then ranked No. 11 by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Her first assist in the 47th minute was a serve that was put in at the far post by Abdullah. She also served up the game-winning goal that Tahnai Annis headed in at the far post in the 73rd minute.
Kit is a left back for the Gator backline, a position that requires her to defend first and also take part in the Gator attack. She stands third among the Gators with five assists. Kit has turned in at least one assists in the last two road matches for the Gators.

Next up, Florida travels to Columbia, S.C., to meet South Carolina for the regular-season finale on Thursday, Oct. 30. Match time is set for 8 p.m. (ET) at the Eugene E. Stone III Stadium. The Gamecocks are 8-0-2 at home in 2008. This will be Florida's first appearance on the Fox Soccer Channel's Match of the Week (Gainesville/Ocala Cox Cable channel 255).
