Florida Gymnastics No. 3 in GymInfo Preseason Poll

The University of Florida gymnastics team is ranked No. 3 in the preseason poll released by GymInfo. This is the third consecutive year Florida has appeared among the top three teams in the preseason poll (2007: 3rd; 2008: 2nd). Florida has been ranked in the preseason top 10 each year since the poll's inception in 1992.

Four-time defending NCAA champion Georgia holds the top spot with 26 first-place votes. Rounding out the preseason top five are No. 2 Utah, No. 4 UCLA and No. 5 Stanford.
Every opponent Florida will face in the 2009 dual meet season ranks in the preseason top-25. Florida opens the 2009 season with a home meet versus No. 10 Oklahoma on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. in the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

Florida returns eight letterwinners from the 2008 squad that placed fourth at the NCAA Championships and tied for second at the Southeastern Conference Championships. Florida's 2009 roster includes three All-Americans - senior Corey Hartung and juniors Amanda Castillo and Melanie Sinclair.
