University of Florida senior golfer Billy Horschel (Grant, Fla.) shot a final round 69 (-2) to finish in a tie for 22nd place at the Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic in El Paso, Texas.
Horschel got off to a slow start, shooting an opening-round 76 (+5) followed by a second-round 74 (+3). He had eight birdies in the first two rounds, but was slowed by seven bogeys, three double-bogeys and a triple-bogey.
In the final round on Tuesday, Horschel carded six birdies and finished at two-under par 69.
The tournament hosted the nation's premier collegiate golfers in the three-day event. Each university that has a player participating in the tournament will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Over the past 33 years, the Sun Bowl Association has donated over $625,000 to collegiate golf through this scholarship program.
