Men's Swimming Finishes Season Ranked Seventh Nationally

The University of Florida men's swimming and diving team rode an overall dual meet record of 10-3 to a seventh place ranking in the final College Swim Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll.
“We are pleased with the seventh place ranking,” said Head Coach Gregg Troy. “We wish the ranking was a little higher, but also feel like the men's team is a better championship team than they are a dual meet team.”
The Gators picked up wins over No. 15 Virginia, No. 20 Minnesota, No. 18 LSU, and No. 12 Purdue. Florida dropped their only meets of the season to No. 4 Michigan, No. 5 Auburn and (at the time) No. 7 Tennessee.
The final rankings are based on dual meet performance for the season. Florida finished with an overall 10-3 record, marking the third time in the last four years that the Gators have been led to a 10 win season by Troy. Florida finished with an identical record in 2005-06.
The Southeastern Conference schedule wrapped up with a loss at Tennessee, but the Gators were still honored with three SEC Swimmers of the Week. Tobias Work, Clark Burckle, and Logan Storie (Freshman of the Week) each earned their distinction for their performances during the season.
The rankings do not take in to account the performance of teams at Championship meets and are decided upon from a panel of 16 Division I assistant and head coaches.
