Three University of Florida soccer players were part of the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team's pair of wins last week versus the England U-23 National Team in Burton, England.
The first victory on March 12 came off a 90th minute goal by UF's rising junior Ashlee Elliott (Corona, Calif.). Elliott, who just entered the match in the 86th minute, received the ball from Tina DiMartino and chipped it into the net over the challenging England goal keeper. The goal gave the U.S. U-23 team the 1-0 win in a match that the U.S. out-shot England 19-4. UF's rising senior Ameera Abdullah (Denver, Colo.) started the match and played 55 minutes.
