The 2007-08 University of Florida women's basketball team put the finishing touches on its first year under Head Coach Amanda Butler with a banquet to commemorate the successful campaign.
The Gators, who finished the season with a 19-14 overall record, advanced to the third round of the WNIT, marking the program's first-ever postseason appearance under a new coach. Florida's 10-win improvement from last season was tied for the best in the country.
Steve Russell, the color commentary voice for the team's radio broadcasts, served as Master of Ceremonies. Junior tri-captain Susan Yenser provided the invocation before the nearly 200 in attendance enjoyed an outstanding meal prior to Coach Butler sharing her thoughts on the season.
Coach Butler recognized the tremendous Student Support Staff and a video was shown honoring the team's lone senior, Depree Bowden, who also was the recipient of the Gator Achievement Award that was presented by Academic Councilor Judy Traveis.
The coaching staff then took turns handing out different awards:

Most Valuable Player: Depree Bowden
Mrs. Elliott Unsung Hero Award: manager Serena Wilson
The crowd then was treated to a highlight video compiled by coordinator Edwina Johnson, before the evening came to a close.
