This week's new video features former Gator Great Vanessa Hayden, who attended the University of Florida from 2000-04. The 6-foot-4 center was one of the most dominating and physically imposing collegiate post players in the country. Voted a 2002 & 2004 WBCA Kodak District 3 All-American and a 2004 Associated Press Second Team All-American, Hayden departed as UF's all-time blocked shot leader, swatting 357 during her career, in addition to scoring 1,576 points (seventh all-time) and collecting 1,104 rebounds (fifth all-time). A native of Orlando, Fla., Hayden also was a 2002 & 2004 First Team All-Southeastern Conference selection and recorded only the second triple-double in UF history, when she contributed 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks in the win over Kent State (Dec. 29, 2001). She led the country in 2002 with 126 blocked shots, and ranked fourth nationally in rebounding (11.8 pg). Hayden received her undergraduate degree in May of 2005 in Family, Youth & Community Sciences. She was selected by the Minnesota Lynx as the seventh overall pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft on April 17, 2004.
