Tim Tebow Receives ESPY Nomination

University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow (Jacksonville, Fla.) was recognized by ESPN on Tuesday, receiving an ESPY nomination for Best Male College Athlete. The award show will be held at the new NOKIA Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles on July 16 and will air on ESPN on July 20 at 9 p.m. ET.
Tebow joins basketball players Tyler Hansbrough from the University of North Carolina and Michael Beasley of Kansas State as the nominees for Best Male College Athlete. He is coming off of an unprecedented sophomore season in which he became the first sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy, Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award and the Sullivan Award. In 2007, Tebow became the first player in NCAA history to throw and rush for over 20 touchdowns in a single season.
The ESPYs gather top celebrities from sports and entertainment to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major sports achievements, reliving unforgettable moments and saluting the leading performers and performances.
