Yadloczky Wins Match, Helps USA Maintain Lead at USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship

Lady Gator golfer Jessica Yadloczky (Casselberry, Fla.) earned her second win of the 2008 Fuji Xerox USA v. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship on Thursday as she defeated Japan's Hiroki Ayada, 75-79. The United States maintained its two-point lead, 19-17, following the second round of the three-day competition.
Yadloczky took the lead following the seventh hole and never looked back in her victory. UCLA's Sydnee Michaels and Auburn's Cydney Clanton joined Yadloczky as the three women golfers who recorded wins during the second round. Lizette Salas of USC had an early lead against Nane Shinzato, but fell short 75-77.
The men's team had two victories and two halves to hold the United State's slim lead over Japan. The Fuji Xerox USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championship features outstanding men's and women's college players from the United States and Japan
Yadloczky will face Japan's Nanae Shinzato in the final round, beginning Friday at 8:30 a.m. (GMT +9).
