Ashlee Elliott Part of Slammers FC Team that Plays for US Youth Soccer National U-19 Title Sunday

Rising junior Ashlee Elliott and the rest of the Slammers Futbol Club of California will play for the US Youth Soccer National Under-19 championship on Sunday, July 27. The 2008 national tournament is being played at the Burns Park Soccer Complex in North Little Rock, Ark.
The Slammers FC is undefeated in the championship series' round-robin play. An injury-time goal Wednesday gave the Slammers a 3-2 win over the 2007 U-18 national champion Force Football Club of Michigan. In Thursday's action, the Slammers posted a 3-1 win over Challenge 89 of Houston, guaranteeing the Slammers a spot in Sunday's final. The Slammers used a late goal to end round-robin play with a 2-1 win over FC Pennsylvania Strikers 88/89 (based near Philadelphia).
In a rematch of last's year national U-18 final, the Slammers will face the Force in Sunday's final set for 11:30 a.m. The Force took the 2007 U-18 title with a 6-5 penalty kicks advantage over the Slammers.
This is the third consecutive year a Gator has been in the US Youth Soccer National under-19 championship match. Last year, Lauren Hyde was part of the Carmel United Soccer Club Cyclones team that took the title in Frisco, Texas. In 2006, Ameera Abdullah was a member of the Colorado Rush's U-19 championship team.
