The Golf Channel's new series, Highway 18, makes its way to Florida Field in its latest challenge on tonight's episode. The Amazing Race-style show pits five twosomes against each other as they race around the state of Florida competing in golf-related challenges for the Grand Prize worth over $100,000 in cash and prizes.
With one team precariously close to elimination, the pressure heats up on Highway 18 as the teams race against time and each other in not one, but two swamps – one filled with gators and the other the home to the Florida Gators. Airing Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, the teams must find their way out of an alligator-infested swamp before moving to an unexpected chipping challenge on the University of Florida football field. Then, it's a full-throttle sprint as the teams combat the elements and test their skill on replicas of some of the most famous holes – from Augusta National's Amen Corner to St. Andrews' Road Hole – at Golden Ocala Golf Club. Hosted by Keri Murphy, the second episode of Highway 18 will re-air at midnight ET and Wednesday (July 30) at 6 p.m. ET.
The 1,000 mile race through Florida from St. Augustine to Key West spans 10 weekly episodes, with each team battling the clock, the elements and each other to stave off elimination. Teams navigate their way through three golf skills challenges per episode: a Start Challenge, a Road Challenge and a Clubhouse Challenge, and will be eliminated after finishing last in two episodes. Cendoya and Duncombe finished last in the premiere episode.
The five teams in Highway 18 are:
Ashleigh Korzack (25, Toronto, Ontario) and Ashley Davis (24, Toronto, Ontario).
Andy Crain (29, Goldsboro, N.C.) and Parker King (29, Goldsboro, N.C.).
Peach Reynolds (54, Austin, Texas) and Jay Reynolds (25, Austin, Texas).
Rob Campbell (28, Orlando, Fla.) and Charlotte Campbell (24, Orlando, Fla.).
Raul Cendoya (39, Weston, Fla.) and Jameica Duncombe (25, Coconut Creek, Fla.)
Host Keri Murphy, in her first GOLF CHANNEL series, sets the stage during the 10-week series, mapping out the various challenges each week as the teams race to the finish line and providing insight to viewers during the course of each show. The model and actress from Portland, Ore., welcomes the teams at the start of each episode and greet them at the finish line with news if they are safe or not from elimination.
