Gator Football Names Team Captains

University of Florida football head coach Urban Meyer announced a pool of 11 players who will serve as the Gators' captains during the 2008 campaign on Saturday. The captains for each game will be named during the week leading up to the contest.
Redshirt senior defensive tackle Javier Estopinan (Miami, Fla.), redshirt senior tight end Cornelius Ingram (Hawthorne, Fla.), senior running back Kestahn Moore (Arlington, Texas), senior wide receiver Louis Murphy (St. Petersburg, Fla.), redshirt senior long-snapper James Smith (Gainesville, Fla.), junior linebacker Brandon Spikes (Shelby, N.C.), redshirt junior linebacker Ryan Stamper (Jacksonville, Fla.), redshirt senior offensive lineman Jim Tartt (Sopchoppy, Fla.), junior quarterback Tim Tebow (Jacksonville, Fla.), redshirt senior offensive lineman Phil Trautwein (Voorhees, N.J.) and redshirt senior offensive lineman Jason Watkins (Lakeland, Fla.), and were announced as team captains by Meyer.
No. 5 Florida will kick-off the 2008 season against Hawaii at 12:30 p.m. next Saturday, Aug. 30, at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The game will be televised live by Raycom Sports.
